South Redstone Hot Springs is located in the Northwest Territories, about 1 kilometre south of the South Redstone River. There are two source locations on the north-facing Hillside. The northern and larger features multiple Springs and tufa deposits in an area of approximately 600 square metres. As it flows over a large, steep-sided tufa Mound, the hottest spring creates a series of Terraces. A tiny pool around 10 metres across is covered in yellow and orange algae. The water has a slight odour and a low percentage of dissolved minerals. Six additional Springs can be found around these Mounds.

The southern Springs are about half a kilometre south of the main system and include larger tufa deposits. The water in the southern system is around 20 degrees Celsius cooler and has less flow than the water in the northern pools.
